Replace Headlamp Bulb A Class

Hi I have a 2001 A class on a Y plate . I need to replace the dipped head light bulb on the front offside. I thought it would be a fairly simple job but after grappling with the access hatch in the wing I was wrong. I have looked at the headlight unit to get access to the rear of the assembly. Is this possible or is there an easier way of changing a bulb. Thanks

It is only acessable through the wheel arch.

A Class Headlight Bulb

Hi, my wife has a 59 reg A Class which I believe is slightly different to the 2001 model. I managed to get the bulb out via the cap in the engine bay but getting the new bulb to slot back in is a nightmare. Any tips on what I should be doing? It does not have the little clip holder that cars have that holds the bulb in place. Seems to push in??
