Replaced ECU

My old ECU had the corrosion on the contacts leading to a broken pin so I replaced it with a new/used one from another car, I foolishly tossed the old one without thinking...bad move. Now I need to get the new one programmed to the car, is this called cloning? either way the car does not start now, at all. Can anyone instruct me what I can do to get this ECU to be compatible with my car and key fobs.
