I replaced the headlight wiper arm that I snapped, and replaced the blades too and noticed one side (not the side I had to replace) is not working. Is the headlight wiper motor difficult to replace? I will have a look at it properly next week as it is a non-neccesary luxury. Any tips on motor replacement appreciated, as again nothing in Haynes manual about this. Do Eurocarparts or GSF sell the motor? Didn't see it when ordering other parts. Cheers.

You have to remove the headlamp and the trim under, one screw under flasher and you will see all. when you get to the connector you could test to make sure that motor has gone

Stevie,

Malcolm has such a simple way with words! The first time I took the headlights out of the 500E it was simple to explain but frustrating as the headlight seems to foul everthing but mostly the wiper motor. There is a knack but its impossible to explain - just don't force it. You can take out the assembly without the manual just work methodically. The panel below the headlamp comes out first - take off the wiper arm and unbolt the fixings. There is a side fixing next to the rad that is a SOD to get to without fin fingers and a very small spanner. It might be the rads bigger on mine, which causes all the probs. The top headlight plastic fixing has a habit of breaking when you turn it - again be careful. Thats all the wisdom I can impart until I'm actually doing it but good luck.

Cheers for words of wisdom lads. Will test when I can see the motor. Hopefully a loose wire. We shall see.
