Replacement 1971 250ce engine???

Hi folks,

I have a 250ce I'm trying to bring back to life. The engine head has been taken off and apparently it's not looking too pretty in there. Anyone know of any engine that will serve as a replacement? Doesn't have to be a 250 as the car will never be concours. Just like to get it driving again. I'm not very knowledgable about cars, to say the least! Many thanks, Marcus

A tall order. It's not just the engine but all the control stuff that goes with it.

In your shoes, I'd look for a donor car of similar specification. There may be some still around as they were rust buckets and many might have given up and scrapped them.

I had a 1971 CE and then a 1973 280CE, both with similar electronics so that might widen your search.

This may hamper your chances of success. Your hopes really do need some expertise.

That's right but I do tv car stuff so I'm hoping that can help me muddle through! Don't really have an option as don't have the cash to throw it at experts. Sadly. Cheers, Marcus
