Replacement Laminated Window

Hello all, not posted here in quite a while but I'm hoping you guys can help me. My S211 has a cracked front nearside window but no idea how it happened. On contacting my insurance I was infomed that they work with National Windscreens who have been trying to acquire a replacement window since beginning of December but no luck so far. I asked NW about fitting a toughened window but was told the glass would be thinner and may not fit properly. Does anyone have any idea where I might obtain what seems to be a very rare item?

Amazing that a big screen place can’t source one. As a result my next point of call would be some large scale Mercedes breakers such as dronsfields.

I don’t know what the setup is such as, would buying the internal assembly with the window be an easier option depending on how easily the window is remove/fixed.

I'd be putting the ball back in your insurer's ball court. Many years back, my brother had a Mitsubishi FTO that some kind soul put the passenger door window through. His insurers told him to use a particular screen place who turned to Mitsubishi for the replacement but as all FTOs at the time were grey imports, MItsi were quoting a lead time of 3 months.
The Interweb was in its infancy at the time but a FTO owner's group could supply a new window next week. He contacted his insurer who then gave the go ahead to use the screen from the group.
It's all very well your insurers telling you that they use NW, but if NW can't supply one I'd be having words

Thank you both for your advice, have spoken to my insurer and they tell me they will look into it and call me back sometime next week.
