If you look at struts from the breaker network here they're ~£4-500 for the fronts, for another few hundred you get a brand new one. Not worth the risk IMNSHO.

Now I found out that a lot depends on your specific model of car, for instance mine is an '00 reg and so can only take upto a certain p/no of strut, typically more expensive than the later cars of course.

Don't you get lifetime guarantee with Arnott? I know you have to exchange old strut, they use this for stripping and building of parts...might not be for long once we have left the EU
