I have just done the dipped headlights on a A160. There are access hatches under the front wheel arches - turn the 2 no. clips ninety degrees and the covers pull out - it helps if you jack up the car. The near side can also be accessed from inside the engine compartment by moving the washer bottle which again clips out easily.
On the back of the headlamp unit there are Black plastic caps about 70mm diameter that have a plastic clip on them - press this and the caps hook out.
Now all you have to do is unclip the spring wire retaining clips which holds the bulb holder in place - the bulb and push on electrical fitting can then be withdrawn and the bulb replaced. Try to avoid handling the bulbs - grease on the bulbs can cause them to overheat and shorten their life.
If you need to change the side light bulb I can't help. I wasted an hour last weekend - it's very inaccessible I could only just get my fingers to it but couldn't pull, twist or grip it. The handbook just says the bulb holder pulls out but i couldn't do it. The book also says due to accessibility problems see your Merc dealer. If anyone knows the trick I'd be pleased to hear it?
