Replacing CD Radio in 2002 52 plate C Class Komp

Hi - I'd like something more up to date ..... and would like to retain the use of buttons on steering wheel.

The fitted system has a CD player, AM/FM radio, RDS, and has an orange display .... not the most tech description I'm afraid.

Has anyone successfully put a modern stereo into this car ?
