Replacing door handles/ 03 C180

Hi, I've recently bought an 03 C180 saloon in silver. It came with black door handles which I'm replacing with colour coded and chrome top handles which I got from Mercedes. Has anybody done this before? I want to have a go at it myself instead of paying the dealership. If anyone has any tips i'm grateful. Thanks.

This is a very easy task. You don't even have to take the door cards off!!

If you gently remove the door aperture rubbers, you will find a hole on each door that allows access to a Torx screw that retains the fixed block. Remove that, and the handle just slides to one side and out!!

The fixing method is slightly different between the front and rear. The rear needs a slightly longer tool, and it is a left hand thread, but all will become clear!!

Do you have the part numbers for the handles and what was the cost as i wouldn't mind doing that myself. I have a 2004 current shape c180K. Thanks.

Door aperture rubbers? Is that the seal around the door? Thanks very much for the help, I was going to take the door cards out. You have saved me a lot of time.

I will dig the boxes out for you. The handles are in boot of car, have still got boxes somewhere thou.

hello folks just to let you know, i can get hold of any colour door handle for you mercedes with or without the chrome strips including the caps (where the key goes) ill find out for definate today what models mercedes i can get.

all ill need to know is what colour you need and what caps you need whether they have a lock or and whether or not they have the infra red hole

will include a full list of what i need to know when i get back later

oh by the way these are genuine parts they are the parts that get sent out to mercedes factories in germany

Basically i want the silver handles for a c180 kompressor 2004. drivers side has a key hole and infrared facility. The rest are plain black.

sorry to be a pain but asked what model handles they are, and i was told they do 2 types first on is for the a-class and the second for the brand new c-class (br204 if thats any use)
