W202 C230K Auto 2000
Hi All

I eventually found a 'metal', single-piece bonnet badge for my W202 on eBay. When I say 'metal', the visible part is all metal (alloy/chrome?), the spring-loaded fitting beneath is of a sturdy plastic construction and riveted to the rear of the badge. I have ordered one. The badge I have just received 'feels' a little lightweight to me and probably won't last.

I am now wondering if my solution has finally defeated the gunsight-stealing vandal! I now think they are being stolen for 'trophies' because attempting to sell them would draw attention to the seller and if the buyer was a plain clothes policeman ... .

Regards Phil
