Anyone know if it is an easy job replacing the phone interface unit?

My car has the MB unit for the old 61xx. I bought a 6210 before I realised it wouldnt work and I am thinking of buying a second hand 6210 control unit on ebay from people who are upgrading to the 6310

I think the unit only has a couple of connections, but I am not sure where it is and what has to be dismantled to get to it.

Replacing/updating built in phone

That's an interesting question! My S320 came with a Nokia 6210 which I wouldn't use as my regular phone. So I use a multi-sim (which runs on old, expensive tarrifs and sometimes I forget to switch over). Recently I got myself a Sony Ericsson T610 and would love to find a way to put that into the Merc housing (or change the housing) and get rid of the multi-sim nonsense. Any ideas?

You could clone the IMEA number of the Sony onto the old Nokia and get both phones ringing on the same number........ not hard to do but that would be illegal wouldnt it? :?
