lucky for you i just posted this in the general discusion
i have a w202 c180 95plate and suffered trying to find direct replacements.
in the end i changed my 6.5" door speakers for 5.25" jbl gto's much better and louder, now compliments the dash tweeters. however i did uses some spacers to bring the speakers forward as i was not using the stupid bracket thing the originals came in. the back doors i had to clip away some tracks of the rear bracket and put i think 4" jbl gto's in this improves the sound drastically all round.
however i then disconnected the rear shelf, removed some sponge and housed some sony 6x9s on a piece of wood by drilling from within the boot. i now have superb crystal clear and punchy sounds
hope you win coz the speakers are buggers. all in all 120 for jbls and fitting not bad, the rear i did myself.
the rear shelf speakers were some sort of small sub jobbies in my 202. the shelf was too tricky to remove, so ended up unclipping the metal grill amd forcing them out. never intended to replace them, just use the remaining holes as bass ports for my proper subs mounted in the boot.
if you're talking about the rear door speakers, they are a doddle to change. small screw under the grill/door card and the grill comes away to expose the speaker. u may need an adpater if replacing with non oem speakers.
