reset ASSYST service period

I would like to know how to reset the maintenance calculator on my vehicle. I have a 1997 E240 and I do the repairs and oil change.

The following procedure works on many of the Mercedes cars manufactured around the time of your car:

To manually reset the ASSYST:

1 - Turn the key on to position 2 (all panel system lamps on, engine off) and press the trip mileage reset button twice in one second.

2 - Keep the reset button pressed and turn the key to position 0 (all panel system lamps off).

3 - Return the key to position 2, keeping that reset button pressed.

4 - Wait for a beep after 10 seconds and then release the reset button.
