Been driving various motors on my 100 mile daily commute this week as they all seem to need a service at the same time. Brought the Jeep over on Tuesday and had the pleasure of a Corsa yesterday.
Apart from serving to remind me just how fantastic the E class is (do tend to take it for granted after a while), this experience also demonstrated how you are viewed by other drivers.
The jeep wasn't too bad though I did find it harder to change lanes, but in the corsa, I was carved up, squeazed out and people just sat on my bumper - in spite of the fact that I was doing the same speeds that I do in the Merc (80-90).
This morning, safely cossetted back in the E, people moved out of the way as I approached, others waited until I passed before pulling out and I had no difficulty pulling into the outside lane, a gap simply appeared.
The merc does seem to command more respect.
It made me wonder about the general female fear of motorways, if I had to drive a little shopping trolly, I might be more nervous too!
