Hi, Has anyone retro-fitted a non-MB A/C to a 2002 model C200K Coupe, or similar, (Diavia seems to be a unit of choice for many people). Feedback and any info on how MB reacted ref Warranty/Mobilo-Life status etc.
Thanks

Thats what the service manager at the local dealer said when I asked him about it, Apparently he's only seen two others without it. He put it down to having the Panorama sun-roof ??!!

I would have gone for import - pretty certain that all UK spec C's have climate/aircon as standard from initial release - it wasn't an option so you couldn't choose not to have it.
In any case I can't answer your question so I'll shut up.

I would honestly go for original MB equipments for as much as possible. Surely the a/c unit can be easily sourced from specialised breakers yard for fairly decent price as I suspect these are not particularly sought after parts. As per new parts, try shopping on line, US websites or Ebay US often have many MB a/c parts for sale.

Closing out on Retro fit of a/c, thanks

Thanks everybody, in retrospect, I will probably stay as I am, an new MB unit is £5500 fitted, which if I had £5500, I would use it, and PX my current car for a new one with a/c I guess.
Interesting forum though, and viewed a lot so I was impressed witht he speedy responses
Thanks again
