I do not have any C class but i am thinking of buying a 2008 or newer C class Wagon/estate..
And if i buy one i would like to have a paddle shifter C class and also with the manual M mode switch.

I watched a film on youtube where a person that wanted to retrofit paddle shifters and install a 3 spoke steering wheel on his 2008 C class.

All he did was to put on the used 3 spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters and instert the connectors in the airbag and when he started the car the paddle shifters was working with no coding required at all.

So any here knows if this is a one off or is the 2008 and newer C class that came without paddle shifters have everything ready for paddle shifters? No coding needed?

My 2009 S204 C180 wagon came with AMG trim that includes button gear shifters on the steering wheel that can be replaced with paddle shifters from a firm called G Paddles. He sells his products cheaper through eBay.

If you can get hold of the Vin# of any car you are interested in put the details into a decoder such as https://www.lastvin.com/ and check for option 428, U88 and the AMG Sports package 950

428 STEER.WHEEL GEARSHIFT BUTTONS/SHIFT PADDLE PAINTED
U88 AMG STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS (AMG DRIVE UNIT)
950 AMG SPORTS PACKAGE

If you have the buttons, converting to paddles requires no coding.
I'm unsure if the wiring for paddles/buttons is inside a wheel not optioned for buttons to start with.
