Hi to all!

Can someone please give me some sensible advice as I don't seem to get any from the dealers!

Does anyone know anyone who can retrofit the Comand system in my W211. I have spoken to the Merc dealer who says it can't be done. I have also spoken to an audio specialist in Herts, who says he can fit it all for 3K!.

Thanks in advance........

Call this guy, he advertises on E Bay all the time, supplies and fits with all the correct fittings.

command fit

yeah Mitesh did my E240, he also fitted a cd autochanger.

the only thing to be carefull of, is the colour match of the centre wood dash pannel, the replacment one doesn't exactly match the existing ones, and also insist that all the parts are brand new, as i have a feeling the autochanger is a refurb unit.
Having said all this the command unit has worked perfectly, and mitesh has saved me thousands. You could also get this guy who advertises in the mercedes enthusiast mag to give you a price, i am getting him to supply me a cd autochanger for my slk.

Upgrading to Comand

I've spoken to a couple of dealers and also autotechnic in Herts to see if I could upgrade my Audio 20 in my 2004 E-class W211 to the APS 50 (couldn't imagine I could afford Comand). But it's not as straightforward as when I swapped my Audio 10 in my CLK 208 to an APS30. Apparently the Audio 20 has all the amps etc built in, but the Comand and the APS50 use an Audio Gateway located in the back of the car, linked by optical cabling. There are a lot of people advertising Audio 50 APS head units, but that won't be any use without the rest of the kit and wiring.

I've ended up buying a TomTom. How much did Mitesh charge and did he supply all the kit?
