Hi all , I hope someone can help me . My rev counter doesnt work . I took pulled the clocks out a bit to see if there is a plug come loose or off from the back of the instrument cluster , but non were loose or off . There is two wires that have been cut ( look like thin speaker wires) that seem to go into the back of the speedo but cant see any loose cut wires behind dash . All fuses are ok and so are plugs , wires on carb and coil . I hope someone can help .
Thanx .
Ian.

In the engine bay, on the nearside firewall (towards the front nearside headlamp), there should be a diagnostic port, with the ignition ECU further below. Just above the diagnostic port, there should be a green wire, with a connection point.

Check the integrity of this wire and it's connections. Without this wire, tacho will not function.

Also check all you fuses - I believe the tacho has a seperate fuse.

Thanks Talbir , ill check the wire tomorrow as its dark now . I hope that thats the problem as all fuses seem ok . Changed anti-freeze today and think i got an airlock in the heater matrix . Should be straight forward (i hope) . Been easy enough on fords ive had before . Got to sort that out aswell so i will do both jobs together . Thanks for your help . Ill let you know if its worked .

Hi , Ihave checked the green wire and the connection is good and solid . all the fuses in the fuse box are ok , non blown . Is there a fuse hidden behind the dash or another fuse for the rev counter anywhere else?? . Thanks
