Reversing sensors on new ML

I've just picked up my new ML 320 CDI Sport and was surprised there aren't any reversing sensors (which has been pretty much standard on every other car I've owned over the last ten years!)

Does anyone know if these can be added after purchase or are they something I needed to have asked for before?

I'm not really interested in Halfords one - just official MB fitted ones.

Thanks

Simon

Hello and Welcome

Is it new as in Brand new to your spec as that would have been the time to tick the box. That aside then can be fitted after, either original ones or after market ones.

I'm amazed they are not standard either, even Micras have them, in fact the other day I spotted one of those Tiny Tiny pug 1007's with them :) :)

I retro fitted mine... to the previous shape ML and they work a treat.

Post the pics of the new car, we all love pics :)

I've even seen them on not-so-Smart cars.!

If reversing sensors are needed on 'toy town' cars, m'thinks the driver should retake their driving test.

Thanks everyone - will speak to MB tomorrow and see how much it's likely to cost!

Hello

Don't pay silly money, mine were £30 all done and work just as well as previous cars with 6 sensors (I only have them on the back)

Just found that price in the brochure ;) . . . and I bet I'd have to pay for fitting on top!

I can't believe I paid £450 for the iPod kit too!! (which I do believe should be a paid extra but reversing sensors?!)

Cheers A210AMG - can't see why anyone would want to ring my Dad but I've removed the photo anyway!

phil.30 - the iPod kit works great with my iPhone - not tried shuffle yet but everything else seems fine. iPod Touch shouldn't be any different. Did take a while to work out the controls though ;)

Very, VERY nice. :D Black is great when it's clean - which normally lasts for about 2 minutes..!! :(
