Hi All,

I have been having an issue when driving my car, the engine management light has came on and the car seems to rev a lot higher when in lower gears and also jerk when changing gears (especially when moving off from stationary), sometimes gets stuck in gear just sitting at about 3000rpm and I have to take my foot off the accelerator for it change.

When driving on the motorway the car will either perform at good level (not perfect though) still seems to struggle abit though , or it will to struggle to gain speed and kind of rev. This has happened once before and I was told to drive faster than usual to fix, and that worked last time, this time nothing has fixed the car.

After the Engine light appeared I had my MOT and service during this time, and still nothing has fixed the car or turned the light off.

Just looking for some advice.

Thanks,

You need to get it diagnosed by and Indy with star, if you post where you’re based someone will likely be able to point you in the direction of a new one

Perhaps previously the car was trying to force a DPF regeneration. It's possible that the DPF is blocked this time around.
That said, however, it may be something else and although the cost of a diagnostic scan may appear expensive it usually works out cheaper than a round of part replacement lottery.
