Hello again,
I need some advise, recently my 1995"n" W202 elegance seems to have developed a suspension fault, it has become hard I feel every little bump particularly the front. The shocks have no apparent leaks, and seem ok on the bounce test, and the springs are not broken, the handling is not impaired It is difficult to describe, but it does not feel right. Does anyone have any ideas, or suffered similar symptoms.
Thank you in advance.

The car has 95k on the clock, I have had it for three years, they look like they are the originals. The car came with a lot of history, there is no record of the shocks being replaced, I presume they are the originals.

Thank you for the prompt response.

I suspect the shocks are getting a bit old. Best to get all 4 done too.

I was thinking of replacing the springs while I am at it. Sorry to be a nuisance but I have a couple of questions: would you know where I can get a complete set of Bilsteins for the old girl?,and do you think it is worth it with a car of this age?.
Thank you once again.

From my experience if the tyres are almost worn, the ride is not so good as new tyres. It deserves good quality tyres like Continental, anything less it will grumble.

2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
Even tight ball joints as well can spoil the ride,I always thought that shocks once they went go weak letting the car bounce but maybe things have changed these days
