There is a long running problem with MB seat's that have an artificial imitation leather covering. It was covered in a fabric called " Artico " So if your seat is from a MB, do a search on the forum with " Artico " and you will get an idea of what is involved.. Good Luck !!!

Looks like Artico ie man made leather which is prone to splitting, a good trimmer should be able to help, one or two on here might be able to make a recommendation depending on where you live

Ive just spent ages looking through the forum to find my 'Crappy Artico' post, but it seems that Walkden Car Care are no longer in existence :(

It was a Dad & lad set up. They came & removed the seat, repaired & returned it within 24 hrs

Hope they’re still going somewhere, skills like that are great to have and difficult to find in this throwaway society :(

Artico is crap, for MB it’s simply not good enough. The drivers seat base on my CLK has cracked.
Am thinking of changing seat bases from right to left. Is it difficult to dismantle the seat when its out of the car?

Get good reviews, you can probably get them cheaper on ebay or Amazon too...
