This is worthy of some discussion. Looks like big brother is coming to the UK. Can't they just call an election and put themselves out of the misery.

If anything drives me out of this country, this will be it.

1. An IT disaster waiting to happen (cf: NHS records...)
2. It will cost at least ten times the highest estimate (see item 1 above) and, therefore:
3. It will mean huge EXTRA taxes for motorists - anyone who believes the "cost neutral for motorists" line is simply a fool
4. Do YOU believe them when they promise "we won't use it to catch speeding motorists"?
4. Even outwith all of the above, the infringement of civil liberties is intolerable. I will not accept the government knowing where I am 7 days a week, 24 hours a day - and said details then being left on a train / lost in the post / given to someones mate in the pub (delete as applicable)

The only possible consolation is that it will never work.

Same goes for me, no chance I will ever allow some government to see where I am, have been or intend to go and at what speed.

Does any one really believe that VED will be abolished and all excise duty removed from petrol in return for the pay as you drive system.?

No wonder that there is a plethora of out-of-town Retail Parks which, surprisingly, offer FREE parking.

The writing is on the wall for death of local shops.!!!

Here in Spain, the motorist is catered for. FREE car parking almost everywhere - even outside the local sops.!!!
