I am gearing up to undertake the biggest job I have ever done on my beloved beast but I have run into brain freeze where getting this done is concerned.

Looking at the diagrams from the manual the following which I don't understand  , must be done to enable completion.

Rocker arms 05-2190

Rotate camshaft until the camshaft base circles are resting on the rocker arms?

Pay attention to ball sockets '8', re-install at the same point. ?

(See attachment below)

Finally there was mention of priming the hydraulic elements which I don't get.

Re the shims/washers involved someone mention a 3 and a 3.5 mm thickness is this for the one that fits above or below the hydraulic element

Just one bit of info, to prime it,just spin it on the starter with the sparking plugs out. you could also squirt some oil all over the valve gear and keep the components well oiled when you put it back, the idea is not to have any moving rubbing surfaces without oil.
