Looking at your threads on the roof and it seems the only fault common with the slk is the door central locking pump in the boot and the modification of turning it upside down.
Mine went at three years old they replaced it and the boot seal, so having viewed the thread on the modification I phoned them to see if they modified mine. Unfortunatly they know nothing of the modification or the new harness to allow turning the pump upside down. So I guess its a job to do.
They never modified my wiring either and thats how it got full of oil recently, makes you wonder what they do check in a service, there must have been a recall on that problem.
I wonder if anybody knows of what is required in terms of servicing the roof, scoosh of silicone or what, and any set up diagrams etc if it goes wrong, how to set up the micro switches and so on.
Was considering getting rid of it again but its soooooo much fun, wish it was the v8.
