roof mechanism on 320CE cabriolet

Hi Guys

Yesterday afternoon the roof on my 1993 320CE stopped working, there is just a faint click when I operate the roof retract button. It was working OK yesterday morning. I checked the hydraulic reservoir in the boot and it was nearly empty so I topped it up but still no luck. The rear head rests also will not raise. I have had the car since 1995 and had a problem with the roof operating slowly about six years ago but topping up the reservoir did the trick.

Any hope that it might be a quick (cheap) fix ?

Just an update. It decided to work this morning !

Thats good news, these glitches can happen sometimes

Sometimes I have the same thing happen with my 1996 220 cabriolet. It seems to be when battery voltage is low.
To combat this I now always open or close roof with engine running to give battery a boost.
Check linkages are lubricated and micro switches clean too.
