Rough idle on 300E auto Engine - M103 6 Cylinder Engine....

Hello, I need help, this time is my engine, I feel that the engine has rattle during idleing, especially in the 'D' Gear, the rattle is randomly happen, so this mean it may not causing by a particular cylinder, and have no noise.

I think possiblly is the vacuum leak, but how could I check it?  beside of the vacuum leak, what is the most likely problem??

Dim answer i know, but have you checked the oil? a lack of it would no doubt make the old girl sound a bit rough!

I have check the oil and the water level, and both of them is fine.... what could I do next??

a rattle - are you sure it´s your "main engine" - or could it be something around the auxiliaries, like fan belt, generator bearing, etc?

well, from the feeling, I really think is from the engine, a little bit like miss fire......

If its missing, it may be something really simple. Make sure all the spark plug leads are attached properly at both ends.

Hi,

If there is a engine noise and you are not sure what it is. Then take it into a proffesional to make sure it's nothing major.

Although intermittants rattles from 300e's tend to be tappet elements.
If its missfiring. Then again get a profesional to check it out.

Look through the forum. Much has been said on this subject.
