I thought it was my imagination at first but it's becoming more noticable...:(
When crawling along in traffic, engine reving anywhere from idle (650rpm) to 1000rpm there is a vibration coming through the car. I can also feel it when lifting off when slowing and the revs drop into the 650 - 1000rpm range.
If it were a manual I would say it feels like its going to stall. It pulls strongly and otherwise seems fine

Any ideas anyone? Car has done 42k and is 6k from service A

From your comment regarding manuals, I take it that your car is an automatic? You don't give any details about it.

Is the vibration worse when in drive and stopped? Does it go away or diminish when in nuetral? Is it a vibration felt through the floor and seat or a low frequency, rocking motion of the entire car? Does the frequency of the vibration change if the car is in drive but stopped and you apply power through the accelerator?

If the answer is yes to most of those and engine rpm hardly differs between drive and nuetral then it could be that your engine mounts need replacing.

You are not the first to suggest mounts. Something to point the dealer at :)

I feel the vibration through the steering wheel when crawling in traffic. It seems to permiate through the car when I lift off and the revs fall into the 650 - 1000 range.

There is only a very slight vibration at idle, I can't rember the last time I put in netral! I will check in the morning.

I think that its something to do with the rain sensor mod, that 4 way plug weighed more that the 3 way fitted ;););)

Was an E300TD, now a Lexus LS400
Engine mounts failing at that age and mileage would be....disappointing.

Does it do it in reverse?

No! Do you know I hadn't realised it but thinking back I didn't feel anything reversing in this evening....

What might that suggest?
