Hi everyone!

First time posting on the forum as i have just become the proud owner of my first merc!

However(!) I seem to have a problem with the running of the vehicle.

It is a P reg V230, 62k miles auto.

When cold the engine runs like a dream, however when hot, it starts to misfire, runs roughly, lacks power and spits and pops back though the intake. It also seems worse when the car is under load.

I am suspecting (hoping?!) its either a plug or more likely the igniter pack breaking down - but would like some more advice before starting work!

I have a few other issues with the car but they will be posted seperatey under the right topics!

Thanks in advance for any help and advice offered!

The most likely cause is the throttle flap faulting.

get the codes read first.

Thanks for your input guys. I changed the plugs and one coil and it seems (touch wood!) to be behaving.

If i have a repeat problem I will get the codes read as suggested.

Thanks again!

v230 with a misfire

Hi guys

I have a 97 v230 petrol that has developed a misfire? I have changed coil packs, ht leads, plugs and had the ecu tested, the ecu tested fine but i still have the misfire. It appears to disappear above 4000 revs.

Any one experienced this before, I understand that these have alot of history with the ecu so I was totally shocked to find that it tested fine??
