The P5B is a nice car, I had one that I used one year in the classic motor racing season, it surprised quite a few people, even me!
The SD1 will most likely not sell, £1500-2k my reckoning.
Just seen this thread, sds, had a bright yellow v8 with a vittese lump, very rat rod style, 4 round headlights, chicken wire grille, brake cooling ducts hanging out the front, all very touring car, only had two front seats , no rears, half cage and 999 on speed dial! Suicidal car, used to run it along the m9 at early in the morning, 3 litre capris in close formation flat out. Sounded great, ate tyres, . Dolly sprints, my mate had a stage prepared car that would almost go in for ever in first gear, 40s would just devour 4 star. Droop snoot firemzas, another friend had a flat front that would actually wheelie, if you took of hard up a hill!!! No one I knew could afford a real droop snoot, but the black watch , viva estates looked the part !!marinas, enough said, metros, why? To get into bigger buses, when we started stock car racing we used to put Essex v6 into transits and sdi v8 into sherpas ! 3 abreast on m9 slip roads, pulling trailers hitting 70 in a frightening time ! Then I grew up and haven't miss behaved since ! ..........

3 litre Essex V6 could be specified from the factory. I knew a guy with a mk2 transit minibus, 3 litre 4 speed (as they were) and overdrive (which would operate on all 4 gears) that thing could shift. back when the RS Turbo (Escort) was the king of the boy racers (insurance was impossible on Sierra Cossies) this minibus would eat them for fun on the motorway!
torque steer on boost could be a bit of an issue, especially when you weren't used to them, but most cars with much over 100bhp of that era had that issue in a fwd chassis. they were a hell of a lot of fun though. the RS was also pretty much the only escort I never owned or drove on a daily basis.
