I removed the smog pump from my 1990 300sl, during the operation i had to move the vehicle. I discovered I had a dead battery, thought nothing of it, abandonded the move. I picked up a used smog pump and installed it, charged the battery and I was off and running. I only drove for about 3 miles and parked it. A couple of days later I went to drive my car and the battery was'nt up to snuff I assume, it would turn over but not crank. I recharged the battery, I then noticed it was running rough a low idle, would run for a few miles(10), then would stall without starting back up. Now would the smog pump replacement have anything to do with it or maybe me jump starting the vehicle may add to the problem I don't know. Before I dumped countless amounts of money into the thing, could anyone direct me to the culprit before I pull my wife's teeth out one by one with a pair of rusty pliers
