My 95 C 200 Sport Has Rust On The Four Arches I Was Going To Treat It With Hammerite Its Suppossed To Eat It Back Tothe Metal And I Was Going To Treat It With Rust Primer Do Yous Think It Will Work Has Any One Done It There Self Before Itll Cost Me A Fortune To Get It Done In Merecedes And I Was Going To Put Chrome Arches On Over It When Its Done Thanks Alot The Site Is Great Very Helpfull Thanks Again

Hammerite is for gates n railings and things that stand still, rust needs to be basically eliminated, grinding again doesnt help cos it makes the metal thinner and prone to more rusting, your best bet is to wire brush the rust with a power drill, use a good quality rust, etch primer, brush seam sealer around the wheel arch lips to seal the metal and then paint using ur colour, putting on chrome arches will make the problem much worse, but if ur gonna fit the chrome arches, use copious amounts of grease or waxoyl before fitting

A lot of people like to use the POR-15 paint/rust treatments. I have used it myself but I sold the car so I couldn't monitor the work to see if it kept the rust at bay.
