I have a couple of minor rust spots on my C280, one slight bubbling around the bottom of my radio antenna and the second along the top rear leading edge of my roof where it meets the sunroof (where water seems to pool when it rains).

My question is, how can I arrest the errosion? I don't want to go the route of body and paintwork yet and I don't want to make a relatively minor job into a major one.

For what its worth, the roof rust has breached the paint (but is barely noticeable) and the antenna one hasn't.

Cheers,

MikeE

With the roof rust, it is not bleached, it is where water has got in between the base coat and the top coat, to keep these area's in check the rust needs to be scraped off, sand paper is OK as long as you do not go near the good paint, and painted in, it is not an easy job if you have never done it before, its also the wrong time of the year as its too cold for the solvents to dry correctly
