I have a 1998 208clk registered 10/98. Is it worth trying to get rust around boot lock, trim above reg plate and wheel arches sorted under warranty? Bought the car last year but doesn't have full merc history.

Hi - and welcome to the Forum.

Sadly, because you don't have a FMBSH, it seems highly unlikely that you will be covered under Mobilo.

There are numerous threads/topics on this very subject of rust - do a 'search' and see what you can find.

I have a 1999 CLK and had both the front wheel arches and boot lid sorted under the warranty, don't think mine has full MB service history, so you could be OK.
My back arches are starting to bubble so I think I might approach the same garage and try and get them done within the next few months.

1998 was the switch over point between the 8 and 30 year cover. FMBSH helps but lack of it doesn't mean you will be turned down automatically.
Clearly if it was registered before they switched to 30 year cover you'll be out of luck but you never know. They've repaired cars that I'd have expected to be turned down so it's worth asking. Also, as the number claims falls off, I get the impression that they're getting less strict.
Call into your dealer and ask.
