I've just found a rust patch developing near the rear door handle on my 99V C220 CDI estate and would like to get it fixed pronto. I was wondering whether this would be covered by the anti-corrosion policy on MB's even though the car is second hand, 7 yrs old and only been serviced at indies? (It only has a genuine 58K on the clock and not a carpark ding or scratch to speak of).

Your asking a lot, however it doesn't cost anything to ask. It does help if you have a relastionship with a dealer. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

As Blobcat says, nothing ventured.
Just don't hold your breath. Rear door handles aren't a known weak spot so I'd expect some damage has caused it, possibly repaired by the previous owner. The dealer has an electronic paint depth gauge that will reveal all!
