S-Class Air-Con probs

:? Hi,

I have a 1995 S-Class and the air con system does not pump out cold air. I have had the system re-charged but it made no difference.

Any ideas on the possible problem / solution?

I played around with one of the switches that goes to the air con tank ( the one with the glass circle in the top don't know its technical name), and when I reconnected it the engine revs dropped as if the air con was about to kick in.

My joy was short lived however as the revs returned to normal and the air con still refuses to pump out cold air.

Is there anything else I can check myself before seeking professional and undoutably expensive advice.
