s class dash lights/cd player

my dash board lights arn't fully coming on,and flicker when i go over bumps..... and second fault..cd won't play,when cd selected on dash,it say's magazine empty,it's the command system,the car is a 1999 s class 320, any idea's welcome.

Try the dealer first. If no joy, google mercedes cluster repair. Loads of firms out there fix them now.

Good advice. Try the dealer and from your Vin he will tell you if your car is covered by the re call, or even if it has already had a replacement cluster. If it has then you will still be covered as I believe the new ones were given a ten year warranty.

Is it just the cluster lights that are affected, or are the other lights (ie heater controls etc) playing up as well?

dash lights fault

yes, one more light is affected, the roof interior light doesn't come on when the door is opened,but will turn on manually,
it is a w220 car..........i hadn't thought about it before but prior to the light faults i had the car jet washed, and at the time i was thinking that the guy doing it was firing a lot of water down under the windscreen into the vents .could this be anything to do with it ,
