s-class gearbox problem help

I hope someone can help
2000 s-class 196,000 miles 320 petrol
Driving on motorway revs increased to 4000rpm at 50mph instinctiveley went for gear shift cant say if pushed forward or back but lost all drive.
Car recovered by AA bought engine gearbox and diff from 47.000 mile write off.
All fitted tiptronic working in garage. set off 200yards later goes into limp mode i think 3rd gear. Stop engine start again tiptronic works set off 200yards later back in limp mode.
Gearbox replaced same problem. Star diagnostics show malfunction causing slipping but its not slipping.
Garage that fitted box is a Merc specialist but they are baffled and so are Dronsfield Merc

Have you checked the gearbox ecu for oil contamination, it should be located behind the l/h strut mounting, just in front of the bonnet hinge.

I will contact garage tomorrow and ask then to check. Thanks for advice

Tranmission ecu was full of oil.
Its has been drained and dryed out today so fingers crossed back on the road tomorrow.

Have you replaced the gearbox wiring loom seals..less than a tenner and about 15 mins work.. glad you got sorted

the price has gone up for the pilot bushing seals. Now £15ish
