S Class Harman Kardon - how to tell

I'm a newbie here looking to buy the latest S class (used). I want a car with Harman Kardon surround sound, however with the old W220 you simply looked at the speaker grille for the Bose logo to indicate it had superior sound. How do you tell with the latest model that it has the upgraded Harman Kardon option? Ideally physical checks are better as then I can call dealers and ask them to check for me so that it could save me a wasted trip

They can check for you on the data sheet which shows all extras. Or you can tell from the VIN number if you go to a Russian site that shows all the options. Someone with a better memory than me will post the link for you soon..........

if you go to the service booklet that should be with the vehicle on the back page there should be a blue spec sheet with all the option code that are fitted to the car from the factory, a quick glance through this will let you know what options are fitted
Harman option code is 810

The speaker count for Harman Kardon is also different. There should be subwoofers on the parcel shelf, extra tweeters etc.

Also try playing music in a standard car, then one with HK, the sound will be different and better in the HK car
