s class imobiliser

Immobiliser on mercedes w220 s class will not switch off. used key fob to open car but wld not open. Used key in lock, door opened but alarm went off and engine will not start. Am thinking this may
Be an immobiliser problem, how do i deactivate. Have changed batteries in key fob, but no change.

So the key is not working, test it be pointing it into a digital camera to see if you can see the beam

i have tried my spare keys and the key card and still no joy. i have used my phone camera to test keys but no beem

Then are the batteries upside down, this is all a key fault so far if the central locking does not work, it does need good quality batteries, the cheap £1 shop versions are no good

Then do you have a PSE pump fault,,,, press the locking button in the car to see if all the car locks OK

The alarm and Immobiliser is all turned off as soon as the key is accepted in the ignition switch.

If it doesn't open the doors and doesn't work in the ignition then its either the key or the ignition.

Being a 2002 S Class W220 I would go with the ignition switch.

TEST - If you can get a hair dryer inside the car, Heat the dash board around the ignition. Note. I take no responsibility if you melt the dash! Light heat will do. - See it it works!
