S-Class SATNAV Antenna

I have a 2001 S320 CDi. I have had lots of trouble with the SATNAV. The system has a rear glassmount bee-sting antenna which comes loose, lets in water etc. so SATNAV fails. I heard this may be cured with bathroom sealant round the antenna! My dealer simply sticks it back on and the SATNAV works until it next rains or the car is washed! Anyone else got this, or knows of an official fix?
