S CLass w140 Pollen Filter?

Does the S class w140 have a pollen filter and if so where is it located?

yes - and easy to do.

open bonet

large plastic cover, almost full width of car, close to windscreen, behind firewall. held with 6(?) phillips screws - 4 one side, 2 other (iirc). Its NOT the slightly coffin shaped one held with torx screws...

lift up and reveal pollen filter

remove to also reveal fan. may i suggest you put a drop of 3-in-one or similar light oil on the shaft of the fan at this time. they have been known to sieze.

replace.

beware - the carbon activated ones (with what look like coffee granuals on it) are expensive - like 60 odd quid - eurocarparts do both types. I replaced carbon one with a plain one, and now notice farmyard smalls much more.

also - check re-circ filter - passenger footwell, look up and theres two screws / clips. remove, swing down to reveal filter.
