s class with folding rear seats

Hi,

I might be buying second hand S class.
I need folding rear bench to transport my bike.

Noone of those on Autorader has folding rear seats.

These days even E class rarely has folding seats. Furtunately E class comes in estate.

I don’t believe they ever did folding rear seats in an S-Class. A lot of E-Saloons had their fuel tanks behind the rear seats so no folding seats either.
E-Estate is huge and the go to for carrying

Some E class saloons have folding seats (w21, w212). Unfortunately this is quite rare.
On other car makes, folding rears seats come almost as standard.

S'pose S classes not really known/bought (usually) for load lugging, hence won't get folding rear seats.

The coupes generally have folding seats - based on the c-class platform and they add the folding seats for skiing and other active lifestyle things

S class never came with folding rear seats as far as I'm aware, neither do any of series based upon that platform such as the CL.
I think that the only option offered was the ski bag and hatch.

I had roof bars for several years on my w211. I did not like it.
with two bikes on the roof it does not feel good on motorways, especially with headwind.
Also it all gets messy when rain starts.
Not so easy for girls to put bikes up.

There is no good reason why they do not make s class with folding seats.

My daugher had 2008 Vectra and would put inside 3 road bikes and 3 adults. Many cars are more practical than mercedes.

CLS estate might be one option but they look similar to E class to me. CLS is probbaly closer to E class than S class.

The CLS Shooting Brake is cavernous inside but you might want to check the access before deciding on one.
