S Class Year 2000 - Air Con not working

I have just bought a second hand S Class. The dealer sent me to his friends garage to get it fixed. They re-pressurised the system but the EC light stays on. They have now said that there was no power to the pump but when they applied power the pump worked! Now they tell me I need to take it to an Automotive electrician as there is a problem between the switch and the pump. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated as I'm not technical!

There are 2 sensors in the circuit, if one was faulty it would stop the compressor from working. You are turning the EC off arnt you ?

Not Sure if this is any help but had same problem on my C200K new shape 2000 E/C light would'nt go off so had regas still no joy and no power at compressor Had to take to M/B dealer to have FAULT CODE removed and all was well still working ok after 12 months cost 1/2 labour £50?

The problem Mallie had with his C200K sounds just like mine, I'll have a chat with the main dealer and ask if they could check out the fault code, thanks.
