You'll get quite a decent S-Class for 80K...

I'd be looking at an S500 in all cases

Id be working on your budget as primary factor not mileage. Consider what are your wanted options and keep searching till the right one/closest one comes up.

You can have some sellers requesting silly money for a basic spec car and some good indy merc sellers getting px from dealers with high specs selling at smaller margins.

As the others have said, what is your budget, many of here do enjoy a good autotrader challenge at times , also is there any particular options on your must have list, like distronic, multi contour seats or rear media centre?

V relevant point, older (and any s) can throw some costly repair bills. Easy to buy, costly to maintain. So you need a wallet if you want to keep it tip top.

I just wanted the most reliable engine type ie cdi , Bluetec , blue efficiency , problems to look out for in certain years etc
