Two of the headrest eyelets on the rear seats of my S124 fell off, and I need to install new ones. This seems to be impossible, however, to do from the top, so I need to remove the seatback to get access from the inside? After literally hours of trying to get these on from the top, I am crying out for help. Unfortunately the closest thing I have come to instructions for the T-model rear seatbacks is a microfiche scan for headrest retrofit from a workshop manual, but the scan is so bad I am not able make out the text or illustrations.
Does anybody know if, and how, the eyelets (part number A1269880182) and the eyelet grommet (part number A1239880382) can be installed without taking off the seatback?
If this is not possible, does anybody know how to remove the rear seatbacks?
