OK so there are other threads on this (all helpful), but whilst following John Terners excellent posted method, whilst I was removing the old hose from the car it snapped. Now John Says he does not know how you would proceed from here, so this is how I fixed mine.
So with the old hose removed from the sleeve that passes into the body of the car though the sleeve at the hinge, remove the clip holding the sleeve to the hinge, and un plug the sleeve from the tailgate. Using the Outer cover from a bicycle gear cable (which fits (just, and with some heating) into the B&Q 8mm plastic tubing John recommends), lubricate the sleeve and work the cable outer through the sleeve and int the car, this is a faff and takes some patience and in my case some washing up liquid as a lubricant. Once the cable outer is well into the car remove the washing up liquid from the cable outer inside the car, feed about 150mm of a 2 m length your plastic tubing onto the cable outer (you will have to warm it with hair drier to get it on) if this seems excessive take it from me any less and you cannot get enough friction between the outer and the cable outer. use a wrap of self annealling insulation tape over the join to smooth it out. Then carefully pull from the tailgate hinge end and jiggle the outer /tubing combo out of the car though the sleeve and into the open air. take the end of the tubing thats in the car and thread it down the C pillar and hook it up then pull though the sleeve to take up the slack. Cut off the bit that's around the gear able outer (it'll be too stretched to seal on the NRV), and thread the tubing into the tailgate. trim to fit onto the NRV inlet if you are re-using it (or if you are replacing it fit the new NRV, then use a short length to hook up to the nozzle (dont drop the nozzle fixing screw into the tailgate its a hassle fishing it out again). Hope this helps.
