Hi all,
Haven't found the need to really ask for much here so far (although I'm going to service the car at the weekend, so might find myself in trouble).
The estate boot on my 2012 C Class estate is sticky. I've done a search on old threads and someone had a problem where theirs got stuck halfway down, mine isn't doing this.
Symptoms are:
Occasionally, when I open it using the key, the catch goes and it doesn't want to open. And when it does, if I leave the boot open for any amount of time, it also doesn't want to come down. It starts, but about an inch down, it stops. The lights have all turned off, so it clearly thinks it's going down, but I have to push it back up, at which point it comes down as intended.
Because it's an up AND down issue, I don't believe it's a hydraulic arms issue. I've greased everything I can see (it did squeak a bit the other day).
Any other ideas? I can't actually see the arm piece that pushes it down as it appears to be hidden underneath the roof.
