S204 Rear light cluster problem.

I keep getting two error messages come up on the cluster for n/s rear marker lamp and n/s number plate bulb faulty.
Give them a wiggle and they illuminate again. One bulb is very dim although working.
I think I have the problem described in this very good video below. I'm going to tackle the job at the weekend and add a new earth wire to the bulb holder.

Forgot to take photos, but the fix in the video works perfectly.
I preferred to use the second method of drilling a hole in the bulb holder and attaching a 1.5mm 15amp brown wire and connecting the other end to an earth point inside the rear light cavity.
No error messages and all bulbs working again.

Removing the wiring plug to the bulb holder revealed the earth pin was burnt and the wiring not up to the job.

Similar problems on old Fords when they developed disco rear lights.
