Morning all,
I have just purchased a 66 plate C Class SE Executive yesterday.....yay!!! Upon receipt of the car I found that the power boot does not lift up all the way, I'm sure it did when I test drive it. When I went to take it for a test drive it was agreed for the garage to replace the battery ad the one in the car was dead, I mention new battery fitment as this as it could be related maybe?

I have tried to open it with the fob, then manually lift it fully then press and hold the tailgate button until I get a single bleep but yet it still only opens half way. Any idea what I am to do?

I have also 10 minutes ago just purchased a icarsoft CR PRO, hopefully when it arrives tomorrow it may flag up an error to help me but any advice in the meantime would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Gav.

Somewhere in the settings menu you can set the tailgate to limited opening. It’s a tickbox iirc. Worth checking

I've heard about that, but for the life of me I can't find it. Will have another search.
Cheers

No, senior moment, I’ve just looked myself. Single tone means restricted opening is active. Press and hold it again until double tone, which means restricted opening is off

Had to pop into MB dealership yesterday for a safety recall and software update, asked them about the tailgate whilst there and the technician couldn't do it either. Turns out they had to plug the car in and reset the end points (fully closed and fully open), now it operates as it should. Maybe now I could adjust the height if needed....tho I'm leaving well alone

Thanks anyways for the replies.
